Turning motion into action

Plastic housings and technical components from Framo Morat

Plastic housings and technical components form the foundation that ensures your gearing components function reliably and that your application can deliver its full performance: Housings combine gears, shafts, and bearings into a functioning system while protecting it from environmental influences. The technical components perform a variety of additional tasks: They seal, support, connect, and enable movement.
Which application would you like us to build the technical framework for?

Plastic housings

A housing is far more than just an enclosure. The housing is what turns gears, shafts, and bearings into a fully functional drive system:

  • Precision alignment and force management: The housing defines the precise position of each gearing component. With bearings, shaft supports, and other guiding elements, it ensures the gears mesh correctly, directs forces along the intended paths, and stabilizes the overall system.
  • Sealing and lubrication: The housing protects the gears from dirt, dust, and moisture while retaining lubricants within the system. This creates the conditions for long service life and reliable operation.
  • Integration into the application: The housing performs numerous tasks to ensure the drive system functions as intended in its particular application scenario. It mechanically connects the drive to the end device, provides heat dissipation and noise reduction, and accommodates measurement and control technology.

We develop and manufacture housings tailored to your drive systems. With our extensive experience in design, material selection, and injection-molding-appropriate construction, we can optimize complex geometries according to your design priorities: We can create particularly durable and high-performance housing components or produce thin-walled yet strong components where weight is critical.
Thanks to our two-component technology, we can optimally combine the properties of different materials. For example, we can bond seals and damping elements made of a flexible plastic directly to a housing made of another, highly torsion-resistant plastic. Metal components, such as shafts, bearings, and threads, can also be overmolded with plastic directly in the tool or incorporated in a linked process. With automated production processes and comprehensive quality inspections, we ensure consistently high component accuracy.

Technical components

You can benefit from our development and manufacturing expertise for all types of technical components, not only gearing components and housings. By technical components, we mean all functional elements that are neither standard gears nor housings. These include, for example:

  • Intricate sealing elements made of flexible plastic
  • Miniature bearings and shafts made of plastic or metal
  • Electrical connectors with overmolded contacts

In our metal machining centers and precision plastic injection molding facilities, we can manufacture your technical components with the highest precision and in large quantities – using metal and plastic, as well as plastic-plastic or plastic-metal hybrid designs. With automated manufacturing processes and extensive testing procedures, we ensure the highest quality.
