Drive solutions for wind turbines
Wind energy is one of the mainstays of renewable power generation. With increasing turbine outputs and larger rotor diameters, the demands on the precision, reliability, and durability of the drive technology used are also growing. Framo Morat supplies tailor-made gears, gearboxes, and components that operate reliably over the long term, even under the toughest conditions.
Pitch adjustment of the rotor blades
Rotor blades must continuously adapt to changing wind conditions. Framo Morat manufactures large planetary gear components such as ring gears for this purpose, which absorb enormous forces and transmit them reliably. They ensure precise angle adjustment and thus contribute to maximum energy yield and stability of the plant over its entire service life.
- Compact design thanks to integration of the planetary stage into the drive unit for the rotors
- High radial loads due to direct force transmission into the ring gear frame
- Long service life and low-maintenance design thanks to customer-specific planetary gear design
Maintenance lifts and winches in the tower
Worm gearboxes with a large hollow shaft diameter are used for the safe transport of personnel and tools inside the tower of wind turbines. With a transmission ratio of 72:1 and torques of up to 200 Nm, they provide the necessary power for lifts and winches while also being compact, resilient, and low-maintenance.
We offer two solutions tailored to different requirements: our gearings drive rope winches in service lifts for the safe transport of people and materials. Material transport winches are used for the fast and reliable transport of tools and spare parts. These set a polyester rope in motion, enabling an even faster lifting speed.
The advantages at a glance:
- High reliability and load capacity
- Compact, robust design for limited installation spaces
- Low-maintenance design, adapted to your requirements
