High-precision gears for the watchmaking industry were our company’s first products, and even today our metal gears embody the virtues of the Black Forest – reliability, attention to detail, a pioneering spirit, and the pursuit of perfection.
Our metal product portfolio now includes spur gears, pinion shafts, rotor shafts, and ring gears with internal and external teeth, as well as sprockets, gear segments, and special profiles. We develop and manufacture all of these components individually according to your requirements and design priorities – making use of the distinct properties of steel, aluminum, and numerous non-ferrous metals.
We carry out all quality-critical process steps in-house. These include turning, milling, and gear cutting, as well as hardening in our own heat treatment furnaces and final hard machining. Thanks to these extensive in-house manufacturing capabilities, we can perform even complex machining tasks precisely according to your specifications and the highest quality standards.

Sprockets
Sprockets transfer motion from one drive element to a chain and from the chain to another sprocket, setting the driven side in motion. They also synchronize motion, alter speed and torque via different tooth counts, and can redirect motion flexibly.

Pump technology
Gear-type high-pressure pumps generate a steady, pulsation-free flow of liquid at high pressures. This is achieved through the rotation of intermeshing pump gears that suck in, enclose, transport, and finally displace the fluid at the outlet. Framo Morat supplies custom-tailored pump gears that stand out due to their tight manufacturing tolerances, high gear quality grades, and excellent surface finishes. Screw wheel gearbox for cutting machines
In professional cutting machines, such as those used in the catering industry and in retail sausage and cheese counters, drive components must be particularly precise, durable, and reliable. This is exactly where Framo Morat's worm gear comes into play: it was developed to transmit the rotating movement of the machine efficiently and evenly.
The robust gear solution is based on worm gear sets with a center distance of 28 mm and a transmission ratio of i = 8. It combines a hardened precision worm with a worm wheel made of hard fabric. The excellent sliding properties of the hard fabric reduce friction and enable smooth, low-wear operation – even in demanding continuous use.
