Quiet. Durable. Powerful.

Framo Morat’s drives for pool covers

Pool covers reduce heat loss and evaporation, simplify cleaning, and increase safety for people and animals in private swimming pools. Framo Morat drives enable you to move your pool cover conveniently, quietly, and with long-term reliability.

Thanks to our decades of experience in drive technology, we offer a wide range of drive solutions for pools of various sizes – designed for either land-based or underwater installation.

Which drive is the right one for your pool cover?

Installed once. Sealed twice.

The PoolCoverDrive from Framo Morat

Do you want elegant, uncluttered pool designs without cover rollers getting in the way? With the PoolCoverDrive from Framo Morat, you can completely conceal your pool cover beneath the water's surface – without giving up the convenience of an automatic drive.

The PoolCoverDrive with AQUASEAL technology was specifically developed for use as a drive system for underwater pool covers. Since they are permanently installed under water, they need to be 100% watertight.

This feature is precisely what makes the PoolCoverDrive stand out: It features a double-walled housing, sophisticated seals, and premium moisture- and corrosion-resistant materials. Additionally, each drive for our underwater covers undergoes comprehensive leak testing on our test rig prior to delivery.

Technical data

Maintenance-free operation and long-term sealing are essential for an electric drive that is designed to work reliably underwater – and the PoolCoverDrive with Aquaseal technology from Framo Morat offers you exactly that.

Design

Stainless steel outer housing

All parts that come into direct contact with water are made exclusively from high-quality materials (316L, stainless steel, POM). This guarantees maximum reliability and service life.

Double-walled housing

Two independently sealed housings minimize the risk of leakage.

Seals

High-quality seals at every relevant location ensure maximum safety.

DryPack

The DryPack prevents condensation from forming inside the housing.

Mounting

The PoolCoverDrive makes it possible to implement numerous mounting variants for swimming pool covers. In addition, it is equally suitable for covers for standard rectangular pools and for most freeform pools. Thanks to the customizable drive disks, the PoolCoverDrive can easily integrate into winding shafts of various diameters (from 150 mm).

Example 1: Drive and roller free-standing on the bottom of the pool

Example 2: Drive and roller under a cover on the bottom of the pool

Example 3: Drive and roller in a shaft on the lower back wall of the pool

Example 4: Drive and roller under a cover just below the water surface

Example 5: Drive and roller in a shaft on the upper back wall of the pool (with cover)

Example 6: Drive and roller practically invisible under a cover in a shaft beneath the bottom of the pool

Example 7: Drive and roller under an automatically opening shaft cover in the middle of the pool. This mounting variant is particularly suitable for round, asymmetrical, and freeform pools.

Retrofitting

A key advantage of the PoolCoverDrive is that it is easy to retrofit. Since the drive is integrated into the roller, the pool cover is also easy to retrofit. In the case of masonry or concrete pools, two flanges are sufficient to mount the drive and roller to the bottom of the pool (see mounting option 1). For vinyl liner or fiberglass pools, the cover can be mounted using two stainless steel plates (see mounting option 2).

Turn your pool cover into an elegant feature – why wait?

Compact. Powerful. Configurable.

The Compacta slip-on geared motor for pool covers

For above-ground pool covers, the specially adapted models from the Compacta slip-on geared motor series are the ideal choice. They operate at 24 V DC and provide torques between 60 and 250 Nm. This makes them suitable for a wide range of pool sizes.

Thanks to their compact design, Compacta geared motors can be discreetly mounted on the winding drum or installed beneath a cover. And with integrated automatic switching devices, the swimming pool cover can be reversed without the need for additional sensors or wiring.
